How to Scribble

STEP 1

Scribbling is a pretty easy thing to learn, but most tutorials out there just teach you how to make a flower or heart.  That's not right because even if you didn't know how to scribble, you could just look at someone else's and copy their style.  That's why this tutorial teaches you how to make something harder- a kitty! =D

STEP 2

Okay, as far as scribbles go, you draw a rough outline first, then go over it a few times.

For colors, you should have an outline color, a main color, a shadow color, and a highlight color.  Just having a border, main, and shadow color isn't enough.  You need highlights to bring your picture to life.

Next make your color slightly lighter and fill it in.

Make your color a tad bit darker and add shading.

We're getting there now!  Select the main color again and make it a little lighter.  Add highlights.  You may want to have two highlight colors for more depth.

The bigger your scribble, the more colors it should have to look alive.  On my finished scribble I decided to add more shading:

Walahh!!
